After wowing the nation with his hit record, “Blurred Lines,” Robin Thicke was dubbed a genius. While he credited himself for the creation of the song, it appears that everything Robin once told the media was a complete and utter lie. Thicke spoke earnestly of Pharrell to The Hollywood Reporter and eventually spilled the beans in regards to the origin of the record.
“I was high on vicodin and alcohol when I showed up at the studio. So my recollection is when we made the song, I thought I wanted — I — I wanted to be more involved than I actually was by the time, nine months later, it became a huge hit and I wanted credit. So I started kind of convincing myself that I was a little more part of it than I was and I — because I didn’t want him — I wanted some credit for this big hit. But the reality is, is that Pharrell had the beat and he wrote almost every single part of the song.”
In past interviews, Thicke took credit for the song and lied simply because he wanted to take all of the glory. When he was interviewed by GQ, he originally cited a Marvin Gaye song as a source of inspiration.
“Pharrell and I were in the studio and I told him that one of my favorite songs of all time was Marvin Gaye’s “Got to Give It Up.” I was like, ‘Damn, we should make something like that, something with that groove.’ Then he started playing a little something and we literally wrote the song in about a half hour and recorded it.”
As far as what caused Thicke to lie from the get-go, he said that he “had a drug and alcohol problem for the year” and “didn’t do a sober interview.”

Iggy Azalea is ready to take legal action if a sex tape using her name and image is sold, according to TMZ. As recently reported, the Aussie MC has been the subject of the sex tape rumor mill after news surfaced of the purported existence of an amateur porn Azalea might have appeared in.
According to the recent report, Iggy’ legal team has sent a letter to popular porn distributor, Vivid Entertainment, who allegedly has interest in purchasing the tape, warning that “Iggy” is trademarked and use of the moniker will be met with a lawsuit. The rapper’s partner in the alleged tape, Hefe Wine, has come forward and said Azalea was of age when the tape was made and fully aware she was being recorded. However, he denies it is him trying to come up off the tape, claiming the video was stolen from his computer a few months ago.
According to TMZ, despite the warning, Vivid is still in the market to purchase the footage.
50 Cent’s son, Marquise, recently took to Instagram to show support for his father’s latest nemesis. Earlier this week, Slowbucks and his SBOE clique dropped a mixtape. Lil Fif later posted a picture in support of the project with the caption, “That #SBOE Dropped Today,” and a fire emoticon. Will Curtis be salty, or nah?
The stomping out and chain snatching of Slowbucks, allegedly at the hands of 50 Cent’s goons, is now stuff of Hot97 Summer Jam lore. According to the streets, the incident was sparked by one picture that featured Quise, Slowbucks and Trav, which 50 took as disrespect. The elder Jackson, later commented under the photo, “This picture was a bad idea.” After the chain snatching, at least on person in the G-Unit head’s camp was arrested, and Slowbuck held a press conference about possibly bringing a lawsuit against 50. The two have since traded shots via Instagram, despite Bucks claiming he has no beef with the Queens rap mogul.

Looks like Brandy’s brother won’t be serving time behind bars any time soon, after copping a plea deal with the L.A. District Attorney’s Office. Earlier today, singer/actor/sex-tape connoisseur, Ray J, was able to get three crucial charges dropped after pleading guilty to misdemeanor trespassing following a May 30 incident.
